A detector concept optimized for FCC-ee
abstract
The future circular electron-positron collider (FCCee) is receiving much attention in the context of the FCC Feasibility Study currently in progress with CERN in preparation for the next EU strategy update. We present the main physics motivations for FCCee as well as the obvious later extension to a 100+ TeV proton-proton collider.
We also discuss the physics requirements and the technical solutions chosen to address them; in particular an example of a detector concept optimized for FCCee.
We then outline the related detector R&D activities currently in progress.
